Description

The US-100 Ultrasonic Sensor Distance Measuring Module is a highly accurate and versatile sensor designed to measure distances between 2 centimeters and 450 centimeters. With built-in temperature compensation, this sensor ensures stable and precise measurements under varying environmental conditions.

The US-100 supports both digital and serial communication, making it compatible with a wide range of microcontrollers including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32, and more. Operating with a voltage range from 2.4 volts to 5.5 volts and consuming only 2 milliamps when idle, it is an energy-efficient solution for distance measurement tasks.

This module features dual output modes. In serial data mode, it returns precise distance values in millimeters and also provides temperature data. By sending a simple command over the serial port, the module returns the measured distance or temperature using easy-to-interpret data bytes. In pulse width mode, the sensor emits a single pulse whose duration is directly proportional to the distance of the detected object.

Selecting between operating modes is as simple as setting or removing a jumper on the back of the module. When the jumper is present, the sensor functions in serial mode. When the jumper is removed, the module operates in pulse width mode, commonly used in simpler microcontroller setups.

With a measurement accuracy of up to 1 millimeter and the ability to operate in diverse environments, the US-100 is ideal for robotics, automation, obstacle detection, and distance sensing applications. Its temperature compensation feature ensures that even in changing ambient conditions, measurements remain reliable and consistent.
